Maria Full of Grace

I really enjoyed this movie about a young woman (17 years old) in Colombia who is recruited as a drug mule by a cocaine dealer. She is a natural leader, a real survivor, who misses being caught by customs because they can't x-ray a pregnant woman. As she copes in New York with no English, and deals with the brutality that arises in the drug world, she really shines. Although I feared for her survival, I was inspired by her ability to rise to meet the challenge.

Maria reminded me of my niece Maryanne. She was a great heroine - resourceful, brave, fluid, caring of those around her. The movie left me uplifted. 4/5
